I love my curves, but for some reason, I’ve always taken a more modest approach when it comes to swimwear. Despite it being one of my best assets, I always felt like I needed to cover up my bum.

I’ve even ventured into thong bikini territory and found some of my most flattering fits there.

New-to-me brand Brisea Swim really impressed me with the Ella Bottoms, which feature a sweet knotted detail on the hips. Usually, I don’t like strappy bottoms, but this one gives me Baywatch thigh in the very best way. On sale now, it comes in six colors and sizes S-L.

Good American is my go-to for everything from bodysuits to denim, so it’s no surprise that their swimwear also slaps. When a full-coverage bottom isn’t the vibe, but I’m not feeling a tiny thong, their Always Fits Better Cheeky Bottoms are the perfect happy medium. Bonus points for a whopping 14 colorways and sizes XXS-5XL.

BFyne is the brand for It Girls. I first discovered them at PARAISO Miami Beach Swim Week in 2021 and immediately became obsessed with their artsy silhouettes. Sold as a set, the Wilna Top + Bottom comes in sizes XS-XXXL. The sheer paneling around the bottoms gives my bum ample coverage without sacrificing any spice.

Plus-size fashion girlies already know Eloquii makes the best summer attire, but don’t sleep on their swim selection. The Low Neck One Piece Swimsuit is a perfect ‘fit to have on standby for beach days. Shop it in two colors and sizes 14-28.

This is the exact bikini bottom that convinced me thong swimsuits can work on big butts. Available in six hues and sizes S-L, plus petite, this stretchy, comfortable thong doesn’t dig into your crack (rare!) and I can pull the sides up high or down low as needed.

If Frankies Bikinis is good enough for Gigi Hadid, it’s good enough for me. Their Curve Collection is my go-to for booty-flattering bottoms. This one’s got coverage in the front and cheek in the back, and you can shop 17 colorways and sizes XS-XXL.

I had assumed H&M swimsuits wouldn’t fit my curvy figure, but I’ve fallen in love with these basic Bikini Bottoms. In fact, I’ve already snagged them in three colors, including this hella-on-trend sparkle style. They’re low-rise enough to get a great tan, without making me feel insecure. This is the first full-coverage bikini bottom I’ve ever worn that stays put when I’m walking or swimming. Sizing ranges from 0-20 (My advice? Size up!).

Rielli suits scream “Take me to a private island to luxuriate!” and I couldn’t be more here for it. Sold as a set, the Cabo Suit has high sides with a low-rise front. The thick, ribbed material doesn’t budge or dig in, while the single-sleeve top takes it from basic bikini to full-on fashion moment. Another PARAISO Swim Week discovery, I snagged these Hammered Trim Bikini Bottoms last year and have been wearing them ever since. The statement hardware caught my eye, but I never would’ve believed they’d hug my curves so well. Riot Swim is my newfound obsession, primarily because their signature nylon and Spandex blend fabric is buttery soft. Like, I want to wear these bikini bottoms as undies every day of my life. This high-waisted thong fits like a glove and it comes in five muted hues and sizes XS-XL.
