Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart has been wearing plenty of eye-catching looks leading up to the big show tonight, from super-short rompers and lacy cutout bustiers to two-piece stunners as she promoted her role as Princess Diana in Spencer. While fans wait to see if she can take home a trophy tonight for her role (her nomination was a surprise to some critics), the actor arrived on the carpet wearing a custom Chanel black silk suit with hot pants and a white ruffle-collard button-down shirt that she left open accessorized by a bolo-style diamond necklace with a fuchsia center stone. Matching pointy-toed pumps accompanied her look.

Stewart's longtime stylist, Tara Swennen tells InStyle that the jaw-dropping suit was a very special creation from her go-to designer.

"It's the first time that Chanel has ever done custom," says Swennen. "So, it's very exciting. It is a beautiful piece that really embodies her and who she is. And so that is very wonderfully exciting for me as a stylist because I really want this to be her day. I want her to shine the way she wants to shine on her day. So, I'm really thrilled that Chanel was willing to be a part of that."

Stewart's blonde hair was styled into beach waves that were deeply parted for a punk-take on Old Hollywood glam perfectly coiffed by Adir Abergel. She kept her makeup fairly simple, choosing a peach lip and a subtle cat eye. She was joined by her fiancée, Dylan Meyer, wore wore a pantsuit with a maroon paisley pattern.

Tonight's ultra-glamorous look isn't new for Stewart, who has been a Chanel ambassador for nearly a decade, but she and Swennen, are not afraid of mixing in a few more affordable options — even for high-profile appearances. Earlier this year, Stewart wore a cardigan from the fast-fashion label Edikted with Doc Marten boots and vintage Ray-Ban shades. That look and tonight's red carpet ensemble just go to show that Stewart has the range, something that Twihards everywhere already knew.
