A fabric shaver, 'superbalm' and more genius hacks for your everyday routine

With athleisure becoming so popular in the fashion world over the last two years, I would love the luxury of being able to drop upwards of $100 on designer brand workout pants — but right now, I just can’t. Luckily, I found super-affordable leggings that have fantastic quality for both running errands and exercising (Hey there, Melissa Wood Method!).

The Ododos High Waist Tummy Control Yoga Capris have been a game-changer for my fitness routine. They have a just-right amount of hold while still being comfortable — which is exactly what I need these days — and they're the perfect transition pant to take from work-from-home meetings to workouts. The best part? They’re just $16.

These yoga leggings have close to 2,000 five-star ratings on Amazon and come in three shades: Spacedye Charcoal, dark purple and matte black. I went with the charcoal pattern in a size L, a super-flattering combination of black and grey colors.

The photos featured on the product page appear to have a higher cut and more of a capri style, but mine run a bit longer. I’m 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and the leggings come to my ankles, which is the perfect length to wear for my workouts at home (low-impact Pilates, yoga and stretching). These pants also have plenty of stretch, so if I were to order again, I would size down.

An added bonus is that the material is squat-proof, so I don’t have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions in public.

The two side pockets are big enough to store my iPhone XR and a credit card, a luxury often found in more expensive leggings. The pockets are a big hit among Amazon reviewers, too. One verified shopper raved about how "deep and well-constructed" they are, saying, "[I] bought these pants so I have pockets to put my phone/keys while I go for a run/hike. After having a baby, it became my everyday wear, and the pockets are great to keep my phone and wipes for baby drools!"

In addition to being able to wear these out in public, my favorite feature is the high-rise waist. The wide waistband hides my "muffin top" and allows for maximum coverage while bending and stretching during my yoga sessions. The leggings feel like butter and have a nice amount of breathability, so I stay comfortable while on the move. And thanks to the moisture-wicking material, I never sweat through them despite their full coverage.

I tried and loved these Ododos leggings, but there are similar capris options you can shop on Amazon. They're all top-rated and under $20.
