STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Denise Cesare completely lost her voice after a 2006 auto accident, but her five years of struggle to live without it — and ultimately regain it — led her to mastermind an inspiring children’s book and a women’s body-positive bathing suit line.

And while the three paths don’t immediately appear to cross, one could not have come into existence without the other, the Bay Terrace entrepreneur and retired NYC public schools speech and language pathologist said.
